I bought a bag of 21-0-0 and want to apply 1 lb/1K sq ft of nitrogen using a Scotts edgeguard spreader. If I'm doing the math right, I believe I need 4.76 lbs of product to get 1 lb / 1 K (1 lb ÷ 0.21 = 4.76) When using Milorganite, the bag says to put 8lbs/500 sq ft (so 16 lbs per 1K) and the setting on the edgeguard is 11.5.

No, never tried that with the Scott's spreader since I use a lot of Scotts products anyway, and the rate is always on the bag, but most other ferts I use also show the setting number for Scott's spreader since it is so common. I can tell you this though, the numbers work out close to being 1K for each setting number.

Urea and Scotts drop spreader - aroundtheyard Forums
Well today I dropped 12 LBs of urea on 5000 sq ft of grass. I set my Scotts drop spreader on 7.5 and that setting seemed to work almost perfectly. The urea balls are not small so trying a lower setting just wont work to well. So for me, a setting of 7.5 seems to work pretty well to drop L urea using a Scotts acugreen 3000 drop spreader.

Well I was wrong. I started spreading some urea last week and realized immediately that the setting was way off. There was way too much product coming out. The 4 setting on the old spreaders doesn't match the 4 setting on the new spreader. Be careful people. I was back in Lowes yesterday and looked at a lot of products for their spreader settings.
