How to calculate motor drive torque for belt and pulley ...

For a belt drive system, the motor torque required during constant velocity is simply the total axial force (F a) on the belt multiplied by the radius (r 1) of the drive pulley. Tc = torque required during constant velocity (Nm) Fa = total axial force (N) r1 = radius of drive pulley (mm) η = efficiency of belt drive …

Simple Torque Calculation for Belt Conveyor

Torque = 9.55 x power divided by pulley rpm kN-m. When I was young and bright I could do the power one in my head by simlifying it to: Power = t/h x lift x 3.5. Nice to use as a guide, especially if you don't have a calculator or even a pencil and paper on you. (Only works for inclined ones though) Good luck.

Belt Drive calculator | for pulleys, belts and chains ...

Belt Drive Calculator. Belt drives are a means of transferring power between rotating shafts (Fig 1). Gears are normally used where the input (driver) and output (driven) shafts are close together, need accurate relative rotary positioning and/or transmit considerable power. The principal problems with geared systems are: equipment protection from excess power and the need for close positional ...

Vertical Load Torque | Physics Forums

The issue is that i'm confused between the vertical and horizontal load- i.e. in this case the load is vertical (weight) and the torque to rotate the gear is horizontal. How to combine these two forces in one relation. And i'm already using this relation to calculate the torque, which is Torque …

Angle made by belt with vertical axis for open belt drive ...

Angle made by belt with vertical axis for open belt drive is the angle made by a line joining the center of the pulley to the belt with a vertical axis and is represented as α = (r 1-r 2)/ x or angle_of_belt_vertical_axis = (Radii of the larger pulley-Radii of the smaller pulley)/ Distance between the centers of two pulleys.Radii of the larger pulley is a straight line from the center to the ...

Motor Sizing Basics Part 1: How to Calculate Load Torque

Load torque calculation for rotary index tables uses the same formulas as a belt drive, but it requires a slightly different thought process to determine the necessary variables. In this case, friction occurs at points where the ball rollers (support bearings) and the table make contact, so radius (r) will be the distance from the center of the motor shaft to the contact point between the table ...
